1. A method of augmenting alveolar ridges in an edentulous patient, said method comprising the steps of:

  • (1) providing a charge of particulate dental restorative material;

    (2) providing a physsiologically compatible delivery liquid;

    (3) mixing said delivery liquid with said charge to form a wetted extrudable semi-plastic mass;

    (4) forming a mucoperiosteal tunnel on the lateral aspect of the patient'"'"'s jaw adjacent the alveolar ridge;

    (5) depositing said wetted extrudable mass in said tunnel by extruding said mass from a barrel having a bore which is slightly flared from its upper to its lower end for facilitating extrusion by relieving frictional forces between said wettable mass and barrel during said depositing step.
