1. A predispersed aramid fiber composition useful for dispersing discontinuous aramid fibers into a rubber or plastic compound, wherein said composition comprises an effective amount up to about 85 percent by weight of discontinuous aramid fibers, homogeneously dispersed in at least about 15 percent by weight of a binder composition, wherein the binder composition consists essentially of from about 50 to 100 percent by weight of a rubber polymer, which is liquid at room temperature, an effective amount up to about 50 percent by weight of a plasticizer or peptizer for the rubber polymer, and from 0 to about 45 percent by weight of critical chemical additives, and wherein the rubber polymer, the plasticizer or peptizer for the rubber polymer, and the critical chemical additives, and the amounts of the rubber polymer, the plasticizer or peptizer for the rubber polymer, and the critical chemical additives are selected so that the binder composition is pourable at ambient temperature or becomes pourable upon being heated to a temperature of up to about 135°

  • C. and has a Brookfield viscosity of less than about 1,300,000 centipoises at the temperature at which it is pourable and wherein the pourable binder composition does not comprise any hazardous organic solvent.
