  • m thick photoconductive layer comprising an amorphous material containing silicon atoms as the matrix and at least one kind of atom selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and halogen in a total amount of 1 to 40 atomic % and a 0.003 to 30 μ

    m thick surface layer being disposed in this order from the side of the substrate, characterized in that said surface layer comprises a non-signle-crystal material consisting essentially of tetrahedrally bonded boron nitride and at least one kind of atom selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and halogen.
