1. A suction head for a vacuum cleaner comprising:

  • a housing provided with a suction tube and closed by a bottom sole plate having at least two longitudinal suction channels formed as grooves therein and communicating with the suction tube via at least two openings;

    means for picking up fibrous substances including a thread-pickup cloth having oriented fibers;

    and at least one blade carrying said thread-pickup cloth;

    wherein when said means is in a utilization position, the suction head is used as a vacuum thread-pickup member, and said means is received in at least one of said suction channels selected in said sole plate and at least partially obstructs the corresponding opening, and said blade is positioned so that the fibers of said thread-pickup cloth are oriented towards one of the openings and the tips of the fibers in their rest position are substantially level with the sliding surface of said sole plate.
