1. A process for producing an anti-reflection optical article which comprises:

  • providing a transparent plastic substrate on which a hard coat film having an index of refraction of not less than 1.52 is formed;

    applying a liquid coating composition comprising a fluorine-containing organic silicon compound and/or a hydrolysate thereof, on the hard coat film; and

    curing the applied composition to form a fluorine-containing organopolysiloxane-based film with an index of refraction lower than that of the hard coat film by not less than 0.02.
