1. An aqueous polymer latex having an average particle size of 100 nm or less, a crosslinked structure, and a measured glass transition temperature which is lower, by 3°

  • C. or more, than its glass transition temperature when calculated by a weight fraction method, wherein said aqueous latex is derived from the emulsion copolymerization of (i) at least one unsaturated monomer selected from the group consisting of methacrylates, lower fatty acid vinyl esters, styrenes, vinyls, dienes, and vinyl pyridine and (ii) a comonmomer selected from the group consisting of copolymerizable unsaturated monomers having the formulae;
