- an outer membrane forming an enclosure and comprising a textured exterior surface disposed over at least a portion of said outer membrane, said texture exterior surface being substantially non-absorbent to body fluids and substantially free of fiber and being formed of a plurality of raised portions and indentations, wherein said raised portions are 0.0003 to 0.030 inches in height and 0.0003 to 0.10 in width; and
a filler material disposed within said enclosure.

A surgical prosthesis is disclosed having a textured exterior surface formed of non-absorbent material substantially free of pores and interstices. The invented device is usable for mammary and other implants. Various methods of manufacturing the device are also disclosed.

an outer membrane comprising a textured exterior surface disposed over at least a portion of said outer membrane, said outer membrane consisting essentially of elastomeric materials selected from silicone rubber, segmented polyurethane, copolymers of silicone rubber, laminates of silicone rubber, and silicone rubber and polyurethane copolymers, and combinations thereof, and said textured surface being substantially free of pores or interstices such that said textured exterior surface substantially nonabsorbent to body fluids and being formed of a plurality of raised portions and indentations, wherein said raised portions are 0.0003 to 0.030 inches in height and 0.0003 to 0.10 inches in width; an inner membrane formed of elastomeric material substantially impervious to body fluids, wherein said outer and inner membranes in combination form an enclosure; and a filler material disposed within said enclosure. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24)
