A composite board which comprises up to 87% by weight mineral wool, 5-65% by weight perlite, up to 25% by weight clay, 4-35% by weight cellulosic newsprint composed primarily of cellulosic fibers, and 2-15% by weight of a thermoplastic polymeric binder having a glass transition temperature of from 80°
