1. A pager comprising:
- radio receiving means for receiving and demodulating a modulation signal including an identification number and message data;
identification number memory means for storing a self identification number;
reception control means for discriminating whether the received identification number coincides with the identification number stored in said memory means, and for, if a coincidence is detected, reading the received message data;
message memory means for storing the message data read by said reception control means;
means for designating a display color; and
color display means for displaying the message data stored in said message means as a color designated by said display color designating means;
wherein said designating means comprises means for designating said display color in accordance with the amount of time which has elapsed since the reception of the message data.

Abstract
A pager has a TV receiver for receiving a TV radio wave which causes the display to display a TV image. The pager has a color designation circuit for designating a display color of a message. The color designation circuit designates the display color of the message in accordance with a predetermined method for emphasizing the message. The display then displays the message in the designated color.

4. A method of receiving message data, comprising:
-
a first step of searching for predetermined preamble data; a second step of obtaining synchronization with received data after the preamble data is detected in the first step; a third step of detecting a predetermined ID code after the synchronization is obtained in the second step; a fourth step of returning to the first step when the predetermined ID code is not detected in the third step and of receiving message data that is transmitted together with the ID code, and informing of the reception of the message data when the ID code is detected in the third step; a fifth step of detecting reception time at which the message data is received; a sixth step of storing the message data received in the fourth step and the reception time data indicating the reception time detected in the fifth step; a seventh step of reading out the message data and the reception time data stored in the sixth step; an eighth step of determining a display color for the message data read out in the seventh step in accordance with the reception time data read out in the seventh step; and a ninth step of displaying the message data read out in the seventh step with the color determined in the eighth step.
