Reaction products of alpha-aminomethylene phosphonic acids and epoxy compounds and their use in coating compositions
First Claim
1. A compound which is a reaction product of an alpha-aminomethylene phosphonic acid corresponding to the formula, ##STR6## wherein a=1, 2 or 3, a+b+c=3, and each R, which may be the same or different, is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aryl, alkaryl, and aralkyl with an epoxy compound selected from the group consisting of polyglycidyl ethers of polyphenols and glycidyl ethers of aromatic alcohols;
- the moles of epoxy groups to moles of replaceable hydrogen from the phosphonic acid groups being within the range of 1.0;
8.0 to 1.0;
1.0.
