1. An exposure control apparatus for a camera provided with a flash unit, comprising:

  • means for determining an exposure value according to the luminance of an object;

    means for controlling said flash unit so as to effect the photographing operation with flash emission when said object luminance is equal to or less than a predetermined level;

    means for supplying information on time;

    means for discriminating whether the current time is a twilight time, based on said time information; and

    means for reducing said predetermined level of said control means by a predetermined amount when the current time is identified as a twilight time.
