1. A heat-sensitive recording material comprising:

  • a substrate sheet;

    a heat-sensitive color-forming layer formed on a surface of the substrate sheet and comprising a substantially colorless dye precursor, a color-developing agent reactive with the dye precursor upon heating to develop a color, and a binder andat least one protective layer formed on the heat-sensitive color-forming layer and comprising, as a principal component, a mixture of;

    (A) a polyvinylalcohol resin;

    (B) a water-soluble cross-linking agent; and

    (C) an organic boron-containing polymer of the formula (I);

    ##STR4## wherein p represents an integer of 10 or more.
