1. An arrow holding and loading device for an archery bow having a grip section and a bow string substantially defining a shoot plane, said holding and loading device comprising:
- means to adjustably connect the holding and loading device to the grip section;
a pivot plate including means to support a first arrow in a shoot position, said pivot plate further including means to pivot said pivot plate substantially within the plane defined by the grip section and bow string between a substantially horizontal position and the shoot position; and
means for supporting a second arrow in a pre-shoot position wherein when said pivot plate pivots out of the shoot position said means for supporting the second arrow positions said second arrow in the shoot position.

Abstract
An arrow holding and loading device for an archery bow has a frame to be bolted to the bow so that it can support a carriage that moves horizontally from left to right at the arrow plate side of the riser, through a window in the arrow plate side of the riser, or to the rear of the riser to automatically shift a follow-up arrow into shooting position upon release by the archer of an initial arrow.

23. An arrow holder and loader for an archery bow having a bow string and a shooting position for an arrow in which the arrow is axially aligned with the bow string, said loader comprising:

a frame including a first means for supporting a first arrow in said shooting position; a carriage mounted on the frame for movement transverse to the shooting position and having a second means for releasably supporting a follow-up arrow in a pre-shooting position parallel to said shooting position and to said first arrow, said first means for supporting a first arrow being isolated from said transverse movement of said carriage, said second means including an arrow alignment wall means and an arrow holder and clamp movable with said wall means and with respect to said wall means for releasably clamping said follow-up arrow against said wall means, said alignment wall means having a spacer means to hold said follow-up arrow a predetermined distance away from said wall means so that the fletching or blades of said follow-up arrow would not engage said alignment wall means, said spacer means movable from the pre-shooting position to the shooting position in conjunction with said alignment wall means; and a third means for moving the carriage on the frame to carry the follow-up arrow along a path from said pre-shooting position into said shooting position wherein the follow-up arrow is axially aligned with the bow string. - View Dependent Claims (24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47)
