- (a) a soft polyvinyl acetate gum base in an amount from about 60% to about 70%;
(b) a flavoring agent;

Abstract
The present invention pertains to chewing gum compositions having longer lasting sweetness which comprise in percentages by weight of the total composition (a) a soft polyvinyl acetate gum base in an amount from about 50% to about 80%, (b) a flavoring agent, (c) an intense sweetening agent in an amount up to about 0.3%, and (d) a bulk sweetening agent in an amount from about 10% to about 40%. The present invention also pertains to methods for preparing the chewing gums having longer lasting sweetness.

23. A method for preparing a chewing gum composition having longer lasting sweetness which comprises the steps of:

(A) providing the following ingredients in percentages by weight of the total composition; (a) a soft polyvinyl acetate gum base in an amount from about 60% to about 70%; (b) a flavoring agent; (c) an intense sweetening agent in an amount up to about 0.3%; and (d) a bulk sweetening agent in an amount from about 10% to about 40%; (B) melting the gum base; (C) admixing from about 2/3 to about 3/4 of the bulk sweetening agent to the melted gum to form a uniform mixture; (D) admixing the remaining bulk sweetening agent and intense sweetening agent to the mixture of step (C) to form a uniform mixture; and (E) admixing the flavoring agent to the mixture of step (D) to form a uniform mixture. - View Dependent Claims (24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)
