22. A separating device for a copying machine wherein an electrostatic latent image passes through a developing region where the electrostatic latent image is developed by a toner to form a toner image and then through a transferring region where the toner image is transferred onto a sheet-like member, comprising;
-
a separating pawl for separating the sheet-like member from a surface of a photosensitive member;
at least a portion of the separating pawl is coated with an amorphous carbon layer, anda means for pressing the portion of the separating pawl coated with the amorphous carbon against the photosensitive member;
the means being located at the down stream side to the transferring region along the revolving direction of the photosensitive member. - View Dependent Claims (23, 24)
