1. A method of splicing together metal webs, comprising the steps of:

  • positioning together the end portions of said metal webs in a lapped manner such that the end portions of said metal webs are lapped on each other by a length of about 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm, and wherein each of said metal webs has a thickness of about 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm;

    welding the lapped portions of said webs to form a welded portion;

    after said welding step, rolling said welded portion by moving a roller in the width direction of said metal webs.
