1. A fast response selective chemical species dosimeter, comprising:

  • a sensor with a first conductive polymer based sensing element having its resistivity permanently altered on exposure to at least a first chemical species in a first group of species and not permanently altered on exposure to at least a first chemical species in a second group of species;

    means for detecting and quantifying any permanent change in the resistivity of said first conductive polymer based sensing element; and

    means, responsive to said means for detecting and quantifying, for resolving from the permanent change in element resistivity the dose of a chemical species of said first group.
