A device for nonoperatively occluding a defect characterized by a pair of patches, each comprising a flexible, foldable annular frame and a piece of cloth stretched over and fixed to the frame are arranged so as to face each other and sewed together by a thread in such a manner that as the thread led out of one of the patches is drawn, the patches are moved to approach each other.
