A golf ball having an outer spherical dimpled surface and made by a process wherein said surface is formed by molding between a pair of hemispherical concave mold halves, said mold halves meeting at a parting line corresponding to an equator on said outer surface, said golf ball comprising, upon removal from said mold halves, a plurality of dimples on said surface and said surface being substantially devoid of any flashing or runners at said equator.

Abstract
A golf ball having a dimpled outer surface is formed between two hemispherical concave mold halves which meet at a sealed circular parting line, corresponding to an equator on the ball surface. The ball, upon removal from the mold is substantially devoid of any flashing or runners at the equator and is in essentially finished condition. In addition, dimples which intersect the equator may be molded on the ball.
