1. A position sensor for detecting movements of a part, comprising:

  • an elongate measuring coil having a longitudinal direction, a soft magnetic core arranged stationary with respect to the elongate measuring coil in the longitudinal direction and having a longitudinal extent and a cross-section that is small in relation to the longitudinal extent, a control magnet movable by the part in the longitudinal direction along the soft magnetic core to partially saturate the latter magnetically as a function of position, the soft magnetic core having a trough-shaped cross-section through which the control magnet is movable by the part.
