A method for the topical or percutaneous administration of at least one cosmetic or pharmaceutically active substance comprising, in a first stage, applying to an area of the skin an electric current, ceasing to apply said electric current and, in a second stage, applying an active substance to be administered to at least a part of said area of the skin in the absence of an electric current being applied thereto.
