1. Connecting apparatus for coupling each of a plurality of physiological sensors to one of a plurality of patient monitoring instrument inputs comprising a plurality of detachably securable components which may be assembled to form a complete connecting apparatus, including:

  • a plurality of input conductors, each of which is adapted to be detachably coupled to a physiological sensor; and

    connection means for connecting predetermined input conductors to predetermined output conductors, the connection of said input conductors to said output conductors being predetermined to configure said connecting apparatus for use in a predetermined patient monitoring procedure,wherein said apparatus includes means for indicating the locations on a patient at which said physiological sensors are to be placed in performing said predetermined patient monitoring procedure.
