1. A method of printing a substrate, comprising printing said substrate by intaglio, letterpress or flexographic printing with a liquid printing ink comprising a solvent, binder and one or more dyes having an adsorption maximum of from 700 to 1200 nm, said dyes being:

  • a. metal-free phthalocyanines,b. phthalocyanines complexed with two lithium atoms, or with magnesium, zinc, copper or nickel as central atoms,c. metal-free naphthalocyanines,d. naphthalocyanines complexed with two lithium atoms, or with magnesium, zinc, copper or nickel as central atoms,e. nickel-dithiolene complexes,f. aminimum compounds of aromatic amines, org. methine dyes, orh. azulenesquaric acid dyes.
