1. An electrode for the detection of hydrogen peroxide comprising:

  • an electrode having a testing surface; and

a transducing film substantially covering the testing surface of the electrode, the film comprising a cross-linked redox polymer network, the network comprising a redox compound having multiple redox centers and a peroxidase having redox centers wherein the redox centers of the peroxidase are electrically connected, in the absence of diffusional electron shuttles, to the electrode.
