1. A method for generating a wiring layout for formatting wire and cable within a facility so as to controllably distribute communication services from communication devices such as telephone/audio and video equipment to a plurality of rooms architecturally disposed across the facility, through service terminations which are appropriately installed within the facility rooms and linked through said wire and cable, the method comprising the steps of:

  • accepting data of a first type defining(i) the architecture of said facility and said rooms,(ii) a central location for entrance of services to said facility, and(iii) the services to be distributed to said facility; and

    data of a second type defining(i) the type of said communication devices from which said communication services are to be distributed, and(ii) specific locations where said communication devices are to be located; and

    processing said data of the first and second types generate an intercoupling wiring layout for locating and installing said communication devices in appropriate facility rooms.
