1. An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, the surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member containing a polymerization reaction product of a monomer compound by the following formula:

Abstract
The present invention provides an electrophotographic photosensitive member which has a surface layer of high hardness, high resistance to abrasion and scratching, and high durability. The surface layer of the photosensitive member contains a polymerization product of a monomer compound represented by the formula (1) or (2). ##STR1##

1. An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, the surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member containing a polymerization reaction product of a monomer compound by the following formula:

An electrophotographic apparatus, comprising an electrophotographic photosensitive member, an image forming means for forming a latent image, a developing means for developing the latent image, and a transferring means for transferring a developed image to a transfer-receiving material, said electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, the surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member containing a polymerization reaction product of a monomer compound represented by the following formula:

A device unit comprising an electrophotographic photosensitive member, a charging means, and a cleaning means, said electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, the surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member containing a polymerization reaction product of a monomer compound represented by the following formula:
- ##STR25## wherein R9 is an alkylene group, an arylene group, a bivalent heterocyclic group or a group derived by combination thereof which may be substituted, and R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, and R15 are independently hydrogen or --R16 --C(R17)═
CH2, R16 being a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group, --O--, --CO, --NH--, or --S--, or a group derived by combination thereof, R17 being hydrogen, methyl, or phenyl, and not more than one of R10 to R15 are simultaneously hydrogen, said unit holding integrally the electrophotographic photosensitive member, the charging means and the cleaning means, and being removable from the main body of an electrophotographic apparatus. - View Dependent Claims (14)
