1. An emulsion comprising 1-75 percent by weight of a discontinuous phase comprising a polar liquid;
- and 5-50 percent by weight of a continuous phase comprising petrolatum, 1-20 percent by weight of a cyclic polydimethylsiloxane fluid, and 0.2-9 percent by weight of a crosslinked emulsifier in which at least two organopolysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene molecules are crosslinked by a crosslinking radical;
the discontinuous phase and the continuous phase having refractive index measurements which are matched within 0.01 to provide translucency, the crosslinked organopolysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene emulsifier having the formula;

Abstract
This invention relates to an improved skin care composition for moisturizing and conditioning the skin. In particular, it relates to a cosmetically acceptable, translucent skin conditioning lotion having an emulsified petrolatum base. The emulsions of the present invention are prepared using a crosslinked organopolysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene emulsifier and involve matching the refractive indices for the continuous and discontinuous phases.
