1. A method for routing an incoming call from a first telephone station set to a second telephone station set where the telephone station sets are connected to a telecommunication switching system having a plurality of switching nodes interconnected by links and the telephone station sets each being identified by an unique telephone number, comprising the steps of:

  • receiving a setup message of the incoming call by the first telephone station set from a switching node;

    transmitting a single redirect message by the first telephone station set to redirect the incoming call to a second telephone station set where the redirect message comprises the telephone number of the second telephone station set as a destination telephone number and information that the destination telephone number has been changed from a telephone number of the first telephone station set to the telephone number of the second telephone station set whereby the switching node is responsive to the redirect message to route the call to the second telephone station set.
