1. A method of differentiating a sample of a plurality of different types of biological cells from one another in a field of view, said method comprising the steps of:

  • forming an image of said sample;

    segmenting said image to form a plurality of pixels;

    determining the boundary of each cell in said field of view;

    measuring the intensity values of each individual pixel within the boundary of each cell for a plurality of different colors;

    computing one or more ratios of the intensity values of the different colors measured for each pixel; and

    identifying one or more of said different types of cells based upon said ratio computed.
