1. An integrated circuit configurable as a transmitter and configurable as a receiver, comprising:
- a configuration pin to which one voltage may be applied to configure the integrated circuit as a transmitter and to which another voltage may be applied to configure the integrated circuit as a receiver;
an bidirectional input/output pin for the transmission of data when the integrated circuit may be configured as a transmitter and for the reception of data when the integrated circuit may be configured as a receiver; and
circuitry coupled to the configuration pin and the bidirectional input/output pin having a program that allows the integrated circuit to learn an identification code of a transmitter when the integrated circuit may be configured as a receiver.
