1. A toughened epoxy resin composition comprising:

  • (a) a curable aromatic epoxy resin,(b) an epoxidized low viscosity polydiene polymer which contains less than 5% by weight of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon wherein the polymer contains from 4.5 to 5.5 milliequivalents of epoxy per gram of polymer, and has the structural formula
    
    
    space="preserve" listing-type="equation">(A-B-A.sub.p).sub.n -Y.sub.r -(A.sub.q -B).sub.mwherein Y is a coupling agent or coupling monomers or initiator, and wherein A and B are polymer blocks which may be homopolymer blocks of conjugated diolefin monomers or copolymer blocks of conjugated diolefin monomers, the A blocks have a molecular weight of from 100 to 6,000 and the B blocks have a molecular weight of from 1000 to 15,000, n is greater than 0, r is 0 or 1, m is greater than or equal to 0, n+m ranges from 1 to 100, and p and q may be 0 or 1, and(c) a curing agent.
