1. An anti-missile missile for "blinding" an incoming, threat, precision, seeker, guided missile in its trajectory to a target without requiring impact of said anti-missile missile with said incoming threat missile, said incoming missile having a guidance and control system and a seeker having an aperture through which energy which contains target information is directed to said guidance and control system of said threat missile, said anti-missile missile comprising:

  • a body having a container portion enclosing shield means, said shield means disposed for controlling the total energy received in said seeker aperture to alter the operational capabilities of said guidance and control system; and

    means for ejecting said shield means from said container portion at a predetermined point in the vicinity of said trajectory, said shield means being a blinding material defined as a coating material which adheres to said seeker to prevent said incoming energy from entering said seeker.
