1. A fuel injection valve, for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, comprising:

  • a fuel inlet connection, the fuel inlet connection having a cylindrical portion including a cylindrical outer surface and a cylindrical inner bore, the cylindrical portion including an open end face communicating with the bore, the cylindrical outer surface having a first annular groove proximate the end face; and

    a fuel filter positioned within the bore and having a collar that is positioned adjacent the end face and extending radially outward beyond a juncture of an outer periphery of the end face and the cylindrical outer surface, the collar including an axial portion extending axially in a direction of the first annular groove, the axial portion having a nose portion extending radially inwardly into the first annular groove to form a detent connection for releasably attaching the filter to the fuel inlet connection.
