1. A light-emitting diode indicator comprising:

  • an indicator main body having an outer frame and a plurality of light-emitting diode elements disposed in the outer frame;

    a hood to be mounted circumferentially around the outer frame of the main body; and

    mounting means comprising spaced interengageable detent means including a plurality of circumferentially spaced projections and recesses provided in the main body and in the hood and resilient means for urging the detent means into engagement so that the hood may be circumferentially positioned and releasably locked on the outer frame of the main body at any of a plurality of circumferentially spaced positions determined by the detent means to shield the light emitting diode elements from ambient light incident in a selected circumferential direction.
