- image reading means for reading an original, and for generating image data;
a member, which holds predetermined information, placed in the apparatus in a position to be read by said image reading means; and
addition means for adding a predetermined pattern based on the predetermined information to an image represented by the image data generated by said image reading means,wherein the predetermined information corresponds to identification information unique to an individual apparatus.
