1. A process for reducing the sulfur in a refinery process stream selected from the group consisting of an emulsion, water stream, condensate stream, stripping stream, hydrocarbon-containing stream and mixtures thereof comprising:

  • adding to said refinery process stream an effective sulfur reducing amount of a reducing agent selected from the group consisting of hydrazine, oximes, hydroxylamines, carbohydrazide, erythorbic acid, and mixtures thereof wherein said reducing agent, said refinery process stream, or both have a temperature of at least 50°

    C. to thereby reduce the level of sulfur in said refinery process stream.
