adjacent brush members being sufficiently close to each other that at least some of said outwardly extending bristles of said first brush member overlap and mesh with said outwardly extending bristles of said second brush member to define a slot for capturing the loose end of the strand, said intermeshing bristles being oriented transversely relative to the direction of movement of the loose end of the strand during rotation of the spool.
