Multiplex transmission apparatus for supporting prioritized communications among a plurality of network nodes
First Claim
1. A multiplex transmission apparatus having a plurality of control units connected independently of one another over a plurality of multiplex transmission lines, each of said plurality of control units having a central processing unit to perform transmission and reception of signals over said plurality of multiplex transmission lines via an internal memory of each of said control units, and said memory temporarily stores said signals, the apparatus comprising;
- means for judging, in the central processing unit, which transmission line among said plurality of multiplex transmission lines is a source of a received signal;
means for determining, in the central processing unit, whether a signal to be transmitted to a first transmission line which is one of said plurality of multiplex transmission lines remains non-volatilized in said memory;
means for judging, in the central processing unit, whether the received signal is identical with the signal to be transmitted to the first transmission line, if it is determined that the received signal is from the first transmission line and if it is determined that the signal to be transmitted to the first transmission line remains in said memory; and
means for inhibiting, in the central processing unit, transmission of the signal which is to be transmitted to the first transmission line, if it is judged that the received signal is identical with the signal to be transmitted to the first transmission line.

Abstract
A plurality of gateway nodes for connecting high- and low-speed networks as multiplex transmission lines include buffers for signal transmission and reception, communication ICs, and control units. A priority order in signal processing is set for these gateway nodes. Only a gateway node which operates normally and has the highest priority executes signal transmission between the high- and low-speed networks.

5. A multiplex transmission apparatus having a plurality of control units connected independently of one another over a plurality of multiplex transmission lines, each of said plurality of control units having a central processing unit to perform transmission and reception of signals over said plurality of multiplex transmission lines in accordance with internal control programs of said control units, and each of said signals has a specific code, the apparatus comprising:
-
means for classifying, in the central processing unit, said signals into groups based on said specific code; means for allocating, in the central processing unit, each group of said groups to each control unit of said plurality of control units; means for identifying, in the central processing unit, a transmission source of a received signal from among said plurality of multiplex transmission lines; and means for transmitting, in the central processing unit, the received signal to a predetermined transmission line in accordance with the identification result obtained by said means for identifying, wherein each of said plurality of control units performs said transmission and reception of signals of the group which is allocated by said means for allocating, and said means for allocating executes the allocation so as to avoid repetitive transmission of signals by each of said plurality of control units. - View Dependent Claims (6, 7)
