1. A locatable device for subcutaneous securement of a catheter in an area to be catheterized, comprising:

  • (a) a first tubular member having an exterior surface and an interior surface which defines a passage extending longitudinally through the first tubular member;

    (b) a second tubular member having an exterior surface and an interior surface which defines a passage extending longitudinally through the second tubular member, at least a portion of the first tubular member being positioned within the passage of the second tubular member such that a space lies between the exterior surface of the first tubular member and the interior surface of the second tubular member;

    (c) a hole in the first tubular member, the hole extending from the exterior surface to the interior surface;

    (d) a connecting material fastened at a first end to the interior surface of the first tubular member and having a second end which passes outwardly through the hole and is fastened to the second tubular member, a length of the connecting material within the passage of the first tubular member being formed into a loop, whereby when a catheter is positioned within the loop the second tubular member is rotated with respect to the first tubular member to pull a portion of the length of the connecting material within the passage of the first tubular member into the space between the members and to tighten the loop around the catheter thereby securing the catheter within the passage of the first tubular member, the device maintaining free flow of bodily fluid through the catheter.
