1. A floatless gauge assembly to be used in conjunction with a voltage source and a voltage indicator for measuring the fluid level in a tank, comprising:

  • a first elongate insulating member dimensioned to extend into the fluid having first and second sides;

    a first elongate electrically resistive/conductive polymeric member dimensioned to extend into the fluid having first and second ends, said first end thereof connected to a first conductor for electrical connection to the positive terminal of a voltage source and said second end thereof connected to a second conductor for connection to the negative terminal end of a voltage source, and said first elongate member connected to said first side of said insulating member; and

    a second elongate electrically resistive/conductive polymeric member dimensioned to extend into the fluid having first and second ends, said first end thereof connected to a third conductor for connection to a voltage indicator, and said second elongate member connected to said second side of said insulating member.
