Abstract

Cyclohexylidene compounds of the structure: ##STR1## where X¹ and X², which may be the same or different, is hydrogen or a hydroxy-protecting group, and Y is --POPh₂, or --PO (OAlkyl)₂, or --SO₂ Ar, or --Si(Alkyl)₃. The compounds are used as intermediates in the preparation of 19-nor-vitamin D compounds.

Claims

1. A compound of the structure:

where X¹ and X² which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen or a hydroxy-protecting group, and where Y is --POPh2, or --PO(OAlkyl)₂, or --SO₂ Ar, or --Si(Alkyl)₃.

2. The compound of claim 1 wherein Y is --POPh₂.

3. The compound of claim 1 wherein Y is --PO(OAlkyl)₂.

4. The compound of claim 1 wherein Y is --SO₂ Ar.

5. The compound of claim 1 wherein Y is --Si(Alkyl)₃.
