1. An electrically powered iontophoretic delivery device including a donor electrode assembly adapted to be placed in agent transmitting relation with a body surface, a counter electrode assembly adapted to be placed in agent transmitting relation with a body surface and a source of electrical power adapted to be electrically connected to the donor electrode assembly and the counter electrode assembly, wherein the donor electrode assembly comprisesa polymeric matrix having a predetermined thickness, said matrix having homogeneously blended therein:

  • about 5 to 50 vol % of a conductive filler forming a conductive network through the entire thickness of the matrix; and

    about 1 to 50 vol % of a therapeutic agent to be iontophoretically delivered through the body surface in order to obtain a therapeutic effect.
