1. A capacitive touch sensor for sensing a touch, comprising:

  • a plurality of sensor bars configured in an arrangement wherein each bar is substantially parallel to a first axis and substantially perpendicular to a second axis; and

a control circuit coupled to said plurality of sensor bars to provide an excitation signal to the plurality of sensor bars, receive a capacitive sense signal, and generate a position signal indicative of a position of the touch on the arrangement, the position signal indicating the position along the first axis and the position along the second axis, wherein the control circuit is coupled to a first side of the sensor bars via a set of N lines and to a second side of the sensor bars via a set of M lines, wherein N and M are not equal.
