1. An X-ray apparatus, comprising a power supply section for powering an X-ray tube with a high-voltage transformer which comprises two groups of primary and secondary windings provided on the same transformer core, the coupling between the primary windings from different groups being weaker than that between primary and secondary windings belonging to the same group, the primary windings of the two groups being connected to two inverters which operate at the same frequency, each inverter comprising a different set of four switches forming a full bridge, and means for operating the inverters with a fixed frequency and with an independently controllable duty cycle.
