System and method for selecting and generating telephone access numbers for limiting access to a telephone service
First Claim
1. A remote access security device for transmitting user-associated data to a telephone service, comprising:
- a system clock generating a system time;
a memory device storing data and a plurality of telephone numbers, each of the plurality of telephone numbers capable of accessing a telephone service at different predetermined times;
a processor electrically coupled to the system clock and the memory device, the processor selecting from the memory device, at a system time corresponding to one of the predetermined times, one of the plurality of telephone numbers which is presently capable of accessing the telephone service; and
a tone generator electrically coupled to the processor, the tone generator generating a first set of tones representing the selected one of the plurality of telephone numbers to access the telephone service.

Abstract
A system and method for selecting and generating telephone access numbers for limiting access to a telephone service. The system includes an auto-dialer having a system clock, a memory device, a processor, and a tone generator. The auto-dialer is used to transmit user-associated data to a telephone service. The system clock generates a system time and the memory device stores data and a plurality of telephone numbers, each of which is capable of accessing the telephone service at different times. The processor is electrically coupled to the system clock and to the memory device and can select the telephone number capable of accessing the telephone service at any moment in time as a function of the system time. The auto-dialer can also include a number generator operating according to a preselected pseudo random sequence, in electrical communication with the system clock and the processor, where the output of the system clock is used as a seed number to the number generator. In this embodiment, the processor selects the telephone number capable of accessing the telephone service as a function of the preselected number generated by the number generator.

13. A method of limiting access to a telephone service which is remotely accessible using a communication system, comprising the steps of:
-
assigning a set of telephone numbers to a telephone service, the set of telephone numbers comprising a plurality of subsets, each subset being capable of accessing the telephone service at different predetermined times; detecting a call made to a telephone number within the set of telephone numbers assigned to the telephone service, the detected call being received at one of the predetermined times; determining the subset capable of accessing the telephone service at the predetermined time the call is received; responding in a manner that can successfully complete the call when the telephone number is within the subset capable of accessing the telephone service at the predetermined time the call is received; and responding in a manner that inhibits successful completion of the call when the telephone number is outside the subset capable of accessing the telephone service at the predetermined time the call is received. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15)
