1. A water depth measuring device comprising:

  • a pressure sensor;

    an A/D converter operatively coupled to the pressure sensor that converts the sensed signal of the pressure sensor into a digital value, the digital value corresponding to the start of water depth measuring being the initial digital value;

    a comparator operatively coupled to the A/D converter that compares the initial digital value output by the A/D converter with a range of values defined by a first predetermined comparative value and a second predetermined comparative value, and determines whether the initial digital value falls within the range and produces a comparison result based thereon;

    an initial value setting circuit operatively coupled to the comparator that, in response to the comparison result of the comparator, adopts the first digital value as an initial value corresponding to a zero meter depth when the initial digital value falls within the range defined by the first and second comparative values; and

    a water depth computer operatively coupled to the A/D converter and the initial value setting circuit that computes a water depth value based on the initial value and the digital value derived from the A/D converter.
