1. A band switching resonant circuit for a voltage controlled oscillator, said circuit comprising:
- an inductor connected in series with a capacitor, wherein a single current flows through both said inductor and said capacitor;
a first diode connected across the series connection of the inductor and the capacitor; and
at least one other diode selectively switchable across said first diode;
wherein said first diode and said other diode provide voltage controlled variable capacitance.
