Abstract

A method or device for computing material requirements which calculates various parts and materials necessary for products to be produced when a production plan is input, in order to reduce the processing time for a material requirements computation. In order to establish the object, the method or device of computing material requirements is provided, which can perform a parallel process without using conventional low level codes. Parts computing means are respectively assigned to items. When the lower parts computing means receives the computation result of the upper parts computing means, it independently executes the computing process if the computation result is sufficient for the parts computation. The process rate of the material requirements computation can be improved by performing the load distribution under a fixed rule, including that to which computer the data of an item is loaded or by which computer an item is processed, when the material requirements are computed in parallel process using plural computers.

Claims

1. A material requirements computing device comprising:

production plan reading means for reading a production plan of a product;

plural parts computing means for subjecting the constituent parts of said product to an expansion computation;

means for relating each of said plural parts computing means with each of said constituent parts; and

network forming means for forming a network by mutually connecting said plural parts computing means according to the relationships between said constituent parts of said product;

the highest one among said plural parts computing means forming said network, executing an expansion computation according to a read status of said production plan which is read by reading means;

the remaining parts computing means except the highest one among said plural parts computing means forming said network, executing an expansion computation according to the progress of the expansion computation of the upper parts computing means based on the connection relationship of said network.

2. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 1, further comprising a memory means that stores a parts configuration table in which said constituent parts and the relationships between said constituent parts are held;

and wherein said network forming means refers to said parts configuration table when said network is formed and then establishes the connection relationships between said plural parts computing means.

3. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 1, further comprising a network formation completion judging means for judging that a network has been completed;

and wherein said network forming means establishes a connection between said plural parts computing means level by level using a low level code; and

wherein said network formation completion judging means judges that said network is completely formed when said connection has been completed to the lowest level.

4. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 2, further comprising a network formation completion judging means for judging that a network has been completed;

and wherein said network forming means establishes a connection between said plural parts computing means level by level using a low level code; and

wherein said network formation completion judging means judges that said network is completely formed when said connection has been completed to the lowest level.

5. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 1, further comprising a network formation completion judging means for judging that a network has been completed;

and wherein said parts computing means sends a message to an expanding means therein when a parts computing means is connected to the corresponding lower parts computing means; and

wherein said network formation completion judging means monitors a state of occurrence of said message and judges that said network has been completely formed when said message has not been produced.

6. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 2, further comprising a network formation completion judging means for judging that a network has been completed;

and wherein said parts computing means sends a message to an expanding means therein when a parts computing means is connected to the corresponding lower parts computing means; and

wherein said network formation completion judging means monitors a state of occurrence of said message and judges that said network has been completely formed when said message has not been produced.

The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 1, wherein, in order to form said network, a parts computing means positioned at the farthest end among said constituent parts sends a message to an upper parts computing means when it is connected to said upper parts computing means, and wherein parts computing means not positioned at the farthest end of said components parts sends a message to said upper parts computing means when it receives said message from all lower parts computing means;

whereby it is judged that said network has been completely formed when all upper parts computing means positioned at the highest level among said constituent parts have received said message.

The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 2, wherein, in order to form said network, a parts computing means positioned at the farthest end among said constituent parts sends a message to an upper parts computing means when it is connected to said upper parts computing means, and wherein parts computing means not positioned at the farthest end of said components parts sends a message to said upper parts computing means when it receives said message from all lower parts computing means;

whereby it is judged that said network has been completely formed when all upper parts computing means positioned at the highest level among said constituent parts have received said message.

9. A material requirements computing method by which a material requirements computation is executed based on a production plan of an arbitrary product, comprising the steps of:

a step of judging the constituent parts of said product and the relationships between said constituent parts, based on said product production plan;

a step of assigning a parts computing unit which subjects said constituent parts to a parts expansion computation; and

a step of allowing said parts computing unit to send its expansion computation result to the corresponding parts computing unit and then to execute the expansion computation when said expansion computation result is received from said corresponding parts computing unit, on the condition that said computation result includes data necessary to execute its expansion computation.

10. A material requirements computing method by which a material requirements computation is executed based on a production plan of an arbitrary product, comprising the steps of:

a step of judging the constituent parts of said product and the relationships between said constituent parts, based on said product production plan;

a step of assigning a parts computing unit which subjects said constituent parts to a parts expansion computation;

a step of connecting said parts computing unit according to relationship between said constituent parts of said product; and

a step of allowing said parts computing unit to send its expansion computation result to the parts computing unit connected and then to execute the expansion computation when said expansion computation result is received from said parts computing unit connected, on the condition that said computation result includes data necessary to execute its expansion computation.

11. The material requirements computing method in accordance with claim 10, wherein said step of connecting comprising the steps of:

a step of mutually connecting said parts computing units level by level using a low level code; and

a step of judging that the connection between necessary parts computing units has been completed when said connecting operation has been completed to the lowest level.

12. The material requirements computing method in accordance with claim 10, further comprising the steps of:

a step of sending a message from an upper parts computing unit to a lower parts computing unit when said plural parts computing units are mutually connected;

a step of monitoring the state of occurrence of said message; and

a step of judging that necessary parts computing units have been completely connected when said message has not been issued.

13. The material requirements computing method in accordance with claim 10, wherein a parts computing unit positioned at the end of said constituent parts sends a message to said upper parts computing unit when said upper parts computing unit has been connected;

and wherein a parts computing unit not positioned at the end of said constituent parts sends a message to said upper parts computing unit when said message has been received from all lower parts computing units; and

wherein said step of connecting comprises a step of judging that necessary parts computing units have been completely connected at the time when said message has been received from all the parts computing units positioned at the highest level of said constituent parts.

14. A material requirements computing device in which plural requirements computing units performs a material requirements computation, comprising:

a MPS reading unit;

a shared item assigning unit; and

an expansion computing unit assigned to each the requirements computing unit;

said MPS reading unit reading an item included in a production plan, deciding a requirements computing unit assigned to each item, and reporting the result to the expansion computing unit corresponding to the requirements;

said shared item assigning unit deciding a requirements computing unit assigned to an item reported from said expansion computing unit, and then reporting the result to an expansion computing unit corresponding to said requirements computing unit;

said expansion computing unit assigning an item reported from said MPS reading unit or said shared assignment unit in a requirements computing unit corresponding to itself;

said expansion computing unit executing an expansion process in which an item corresponding to a child item assigned in a requirements computing unit corresponding to itself, reporting plural shared items among items corresponding to child items confirmed by said expansion process to said shared item assigning unit, and assigning items not shared to a requirements computing unit corresponding to itself.

15. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 14, further comprising an expansion control unit;

said expansion computing unit performing said expansion process for every parts structural level showing a parent-to-child relationship of items, and reporting an expansion process computation to said expansion control unit when the expansion process at a level has been completed, and temporarily suspending the expansion process till an expansion process resume instruction is received from said expansion control unit;

said expansion control unit instructing said shared item assigning unit to start deciding a requirements computing unit after the expansion process completion reports have been received from all the expansion computing units and instructing resumption of an expansion process to said expansion computing unit after notification has been received from said shared item assigning unit that the destinations to be assigned for all the items reported from the expansion computing units has been decided;

said shared item assigning unit starting to determine the assignment destination when the resume instruction has been received from said expansion control unit and notifying the result to said expansion control unit after the assignment destinations of all items which are reported from said expansion control unit have been determined.

The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 14, wherein said shared item assignment unit determines a requirements computing unit in which an item reported from said expansion computing unit is assigned from among requirements computing units in which parent items of the item are assigned.

The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 15, wherein said shared item assignment unit determines a requirements computing unit in which an item reported from said expansion computing unit is assigned from among requirements computing units in which parent items of the item are assigned.

The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 16, wherein said shared item assignment unit determines a requirements computing unit in which an item reported from said expansion computing unit is assigned from among requirements computing units in which parent items of the item are assigned.

The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 17, wherein said shared item assignment unit determines a requirements computing unit in which the minimum number of items are assigned, as the assignment destination of the item, among requirements computing units to which corresponding parent items notified from said expansion computing unit are assigned.

20. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 16, further comprising a memory unit storing an assignment status table for storing of a relationship between a requirements computing unit and an item assignment unit in said requirements computing units;

wherein said shared item assignment unit sequentially describes an assignment places of items determined in said assignment status table, and determines an assignment destination with referring with said assignment status table.

21. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 17, further comprising a memory unit storing an assignment status table for storing of a relationship between a requirements computing unit and an item assignment unit in said requirements computing units;

wherein said shared item assignment unit sequentially describes an assignment places of items determined in said assignment status table, and determines an assignment destination with referring with said assignment status table.

22. The material requirements computing device in accordance with claim 18, further comprising a memory unit storing an assignment status table for storing of a relationship between a requirements computing unit and an item assignment unit in said requirements computing units;

wherein said shared item assignment unit sequentially describes an assignment places of items determined in said assignment status table, and determines an assignment destination with referring with said assignment status table.

23. A load distributing method in a material requirements computation of determining a load distribution when plural material requirements computing units perform in parallel a material requirements computation, comprising the steps of:

a step of determining a requirements computing unit assigned to each item by reading items included in a prepared production plan;

a step of performing an expansion process which confirms an item corresponding to the child of the item;

a step of assigning an item not shared with other items among items corresponding to said child to said requirements computing unit; and

a step of assigning said shared items to one of the requirements computing units assigned to items corresponding to the parent.

24. The material requirements computing method in accordance with claim 23, wherein said expansion process and the assignment of item corresponding to a child confirmed in said expansion process are developed for every parts structural level.
