Abstract

The invention provides a method for enhancing immunosurveillance capacity, particularly, NK cell activity, without administration of medicines or immunological therapy, through a noninvasive and simple method. The invention also provides a method for enhancing power of concentration of users in intellectual activities. The method according to the invention is carried out by applying to the forehead, with foreign lights being excluded, a pulsed light in the frequency range of from 0.5 to 13 Hz, preferably in a frequency of a representative value in alpha wave band obtained by measuring brain waves of users or any frequencies near that representative value. NK cell activity is surely enhanced by the pulsed-light application with the eyes of users being shielded.

Claims

1. A method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity comprising the step of applying a pulsed light which has a pulsing frequency in the range of 0.5 Hz to 13 Hz to a user'"'"'s forehead, from a light source spaced apart from the forehead, without applying said pulsed light to the user'"'"'s eyes.

2. The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 1, wherein the step of applying said pulsed light is carried out using a light source arranged inside a shielding device which shields the forehead or the whole head of the user.

3. The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 1, wherein the step of applying said pulsed light is carried out using a lighting means which is not fit to the user.

The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 1, wherein the step of applying said pulsed light further comprises the step of fitting onto the head of the user a fitting device provided with a shutter which intermittently shuts sunlight or lighting beams.

The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 1 further including the step of intermittently not applying said pulsed light to the forehead, wherein the step of applying said pulsed light to the forehead and the step of not applying said pulsed light to the forehead are repeated at intervals of from a few minutes to several dozens of minutes.

6. The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 1, wherein the pulsing frequency of said applied pulsed light is a representative value of alpha waves obtained by measuring the brain waves of the user or is any frequency near that representative value.

The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 6, further including the step of setting said pulsing frequency to a representative value of alpha waves as measured by a electroencephalograph or manually setting to any frequency near that representative value.

The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 6, further including the steps of, directing a brain wave signal of the user to a brain wave inducing apparatus during said step of applying pulsed light, wherein said apparatus extracts a signal component in the range of alpha waves, calculating a representative value of that signal component and feeding back said representative value or any frequency near said representative value as a lighting signal.

The method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity as set forth in claim 6, 7 or 8, further including the step of intermittently not applying said pulsed light, wherein during the step of not applying said pulsed light, the user is kept quiet or rested for from a few minutes to several dozens of minutes and brain waves of the user in this time are measured to determine an initial pulsing frequency.

10. A method of noninvasively enhancing immunosurveillance capacity comprising the step of:

applying a pulsed light which has a pulsing frequency in the range of 0.5 Hz to 13 Hz to a user'"'"'s forehead, without applying said pulsed light to the user'"'"'s eyes, wherein the pulsing frequency of said applied pulsed light is a representative value of alpha waves obtained by measuring the brain waves of the user or is any frequency near that representative value;

setting said pulsing frequency to a representative value of alpha waves as measured by a electroencephalograph or manually setting to any frequency near that representative value;

directing a brain wave signal of the user to a brain wave inducing apparatus during said step of applying pulsed light, wherein said apparatus extracts a signal component in the range of alpha waves, calculating a representative value of that signal component and feeding back said representative value or any frequency near said representative value as a lighting signal; and

intermittently not applying said pulsed light, wherein during the step of not applying said pulsed light, the user is kept quiet or rested for from a few minutes to several dozens of minutes and brain waves of the user in this time are measured to determine an initial pulsing frequency.
