Self-supporting box structure for utility vehicles, particularly firefighting vehicles, for accommodating life-saving and/or extinguishing devices and if necessary extinguishing substances and/or pumps for extinguishing substances in a plurality of equipment boxes or compartments accessible from the outside via various door arrangements, characterized in that the self-supporting box structure (3) has a horizontal support element (12), which is designed in a plane perpendicular to a vehicle longitudinal axis (11) with a substantially U- or hat-shaped profiled cross-section, and on which are arranged in the direction of the vehicle longitudinal axis (11) at a spacing (13 to 15) from one another and perpendicular thereto at least three transverse support elements (16 to 18), which from a base (54) of the horizontal support element (12) project in the direction of a support surface (19) by a length (20) over the base (54) of the horizontal support element (12).
